Last garden bouquet

Here is the last of the summer bouquets. I picked this for my friends mom. She is one of the loveliest people on earth. Her name is Sigrid. She has been a teacher most of her life. She is my NC mom. I brought the bouquet over in a small recycled jar. She just dropped the whole thing in to this bowl by glass artist Fiona Clark. Always a camera at hand this image is fabo.

I won !

Image from the gallery of Robert Dancik
This is the kit I won!
I took a online class last nigh over at Craft Cast with Robert Dancik. I was the lucky winner of the faux bone starter kit. If you make mixed medium jewelry you must go check this stuff out. Let me just say that I took a ton of notes. My head is spinnig with ideas. So stay tuned to see what this Faux Bone and the Joy Taylor charm can come up with. I am sure you will enjoy the out come. Tapping finger nail on desk top waiting for it to arrive.

Monday Junkin

What on earth is solar Biology? I will tell you if I ever read this. Seems a lot about Astrology
I just found this little didy to be a bit of a hoot! Is this big brother 1900's style?

I spied this at a garage sale that had nothing of interest. The maps caught my eye at first. I asked if they were for sale. The woman went to get her husband. As I moved closer to look at the maps I saw the wonderful map holder. Bob comes from the house and tells me yes the maps can be sold. I then ask if he would sell the map holder. He shared that It had come out of his father's country store in Newton Grove NC. Buddy Lindsay country store and gas station. His father owned it from 1935 until it closed in 1977. I think that I will use it to store some of my special glass rods, not wanting them to mix with the other not so special glass! The maps are not that old, darn! wouldn't it have been great to have some of the original maps?

Ok Caro's thrift, Melody wanted to know how much I paid.........I paid..............$10.00 for the maps and map holder...I know.....great, right?

This lamp has been waiting for the oh so right shade. Mission accomplished. Wouldn't you agree?

Come see the others Junkin Monday

Pimp my Light!

Isn't it becoming lovely! A recent find is the bird perched waiting to break into song... only if. I grew up with my godmother Mimi living within walking distance. She always had a canary, oh that song! It didn't hurt either that she was the best cook in the family. Goop sandwiches....I can hear my sisters in my ear...GOOP sandwiches ahhhhhhhhhh. Ingredients maple extract, powder sugar and BUTTER !!!!! Not so tasty as an adult, to sweet for me. (just for the record,I hate that cottage cheese ceiling!!!!)

I went to the 5Th annual Potters invitational show at the Mint Museum. What a gathering of talent. Most things that called to my heart were to costly, purse strings not budging! I did find a wallet friendly set of knobs for my Ice Box/ Sewing machine storage. These are by the artist Emily Reason I enjoy the juxtapose between the old and contemporary. I want to add a punched tin back plate to the knobs. I am looking for some old pie tins that I would be willing to cut into.

And here is my Shadow shot Sunday, view more at Hey Harriet

waiting on the Post

Waiting on the Post for these to arrive! Fall can not come to soon! I ordered these this morning from Anthropologie. I actually saw the lovely clouds of vapors escaping from the tailpipes of the car ahead of me this morning. How far can fall be?
