I loved art from the minute they put that over sized man's dress shirt on me to protect my oh so lovely dotted Swiss frock. I would have lived at the easel if they would have let me. My mom use to complain that I never stuck with one thing. She was right. I still want to learn it all! The one thing I have stuck with is making glass beads. My style has changed in the 10 years and continues to evolve. And you will rarely find me without a camera in hand. My eye is a camera, it seems to see in frames. I grew up with a father who played at photography. We even had a darkroom in our home. So I am art.
All photographs are taken by me, unless otherwise indicated, and are copyright protected.
This is a photo that I took many summers ago. I have not really taken a vacation this summer. I have a class that I will be taking soon for my summer vacation....how I am looking forward to that!

My soul needs a soft place to land this evening after dealing with a soul with ruffled feathers! Did I put that nicely enough? Some days the training room is just not a fun place to be. It always surprises me when adults lose there ability to be adults. So I went on line and found me a beautiful bouquet and a lovely brooch to admire. I would be soaking in the tub with soft tunes but alas I find myself tuned to the song of a rolling thunder storm instead! I do mean a real thunder storm not the ruffled feather kind!
The felt in this necklace came from the trimming of this hat! Never ever throw away felt scraps!!! Look closely and you will see two lampwork beads. one looks like an egg and one looks like a rock!
Karen over at My Desert Cottage is hosting a Where bloggers create party! So welcome to the festooning nest! This is where you will find me creating festoons to send out into the world! Here pictured is my doodle desk...I am a fan of drawing instruments of all kinds...I am always looking for something old that has penned history of times gone by. I take great pleasure in leaving drawings out in the public to be found by a passerby. It will have a quote to invoke pleasure. The cupboard above my desk was created by a grandfather for his granddaughter to store her treasures...I acquired it though a trade with a friend of mine. It was going to be a focal piece at a show she was doing. I was delivering some pieces that she had ordered for the show. I had to let her use it for her show but you can rest assure that it had a SOLD sign attached!
This is a favorite artist Kimberly Hodges...she mixes so many designs into her works. This is the look that I would like my beads and jewelery to move toward. I want to incorporate my drawings, photography, lampwork beads and felting into the jewelery that I create...that is my work in progress...I am seeing signs that it is working. Stay tuned for futures festoons! Here is a lovely that was waiting for me to discover it at the Habitat Restore. As you can see from the one crystal hanging it is in the festooning process. Right now all the ideas are still in the head. I know that I will create a paper mache bird to nest in its branches!
This is my story board...it hangs above my lampwork torch (seen in earlier post)...you can scroll back to see my creative mess of reality! Cuz without a mess I can not create. Those pictures did not make it to the party!!! Time stands still in the festoon nest
This is where I blog! It is my comfy spot! Garden flowers festooning the nest Never enough time! I now have enough drawers to hide the mess! OK not really because if I see more drawers I am buying them!
Here pictured is the sewing garage. It is an old ice box...not that there new ice boxes? It fits my two sewing machines perfectly. When they are out and creating a mess of there own my lap become the doodle desk. thanks for stopping by...If you are like me you can't get enough peeking into the world where we create!
I thik I am going to make this piece to sell. I don't find myself wearing blue to often. If you are interested let me know, we could work on the design together or you could let me do my thing!
I would love it if someone would please have a give away of TIME !!! Here are just a few of the pieces that I need to find time to put together. I have been working on the pearl wire wrapped necklace for years but had run out of the focal keshi pearls. It took me two yeaars to find another strand that I felt matched nicely. I just made the black and white beads set this weekend and it will most likely be the next piece that I work on. I adore the little piece that looks like a little milk glass cake stand! How clever of me!
I am preparing to go into a training class for two weeks. We have been given two weeks to train a class of 15, norm is 6students and 4 to 5 weeks This schedule is due to the fact that we are using stimulas dollars. I find myself getting quite before the storm. It is quite hard to be ON for 2 weeks without a break. So today I bring you favorite images! Quite images. I see Pam Garrison has two images, her colors calm my spirt.
These lovelies will be on ther way to my friend Sue of Cottage Way of Life The two of us were long ago friends and have found each other again through our blogs. Both her and I are into making jewelry. I told her I would make some beads to put into her work, and these are the beads I made for her!
