Uncanny festoon at its best!!!

I now love Mondays!!!

SO, we were off for a wonderful weekend of camping. Just the two of us. As we were unpacking the Mustang (a word of note: not a good camping vehicle.) my dear sweetie realized he had forgotten the camp chairs for fireside reading. We continue to unpack. He remembers that there is a Goodwill not to far, we will go there to see if we have any luck...well you know this girl isn't going to turn down a Goodwill hunting! As we walk in, me, ahead of him, a favorite color blue caught my eye! Robin egg blue! He spies them a tad bit after me...his thoughts OHHH NOOOO!
He sees that I adore the set of seven chairs. I am talking to a couple that also adores the chairs. I am thinking, ohh please don't pull that tag. The couple is talking about the vintage of the chairs. I really don't hear what they are saying....all I hear is please don't pull that tag!!!! (in my head of course, not out loud.) They leave, my dear sweetie approaches...his thought...DANG...they didn't pull the tag...he knows those chairs are headed home with us...he tries to talk me into leaving them and when we depart camping we could come back... he sees....that look...I really need to own these chairs.....Ok...you can buy the chairs....now how to get them home....
All seven for 49.99 with tax...under $8.00 a chair....

Robin egg blue Naugahyde on a chair frame suited for tapestry! Now that is Uncanny Festoon in it's truest form! I have been looking for chairs for our dinning room for some time. The dinning room is in a state of come togetherness. The chairs have been found. I can now search for the upholstery for the end chairs! So how did the chairs get home??? Not in the Mustang, as you see they are seven chairs...The lovely manager Joy..good name! Let us leave them till Sunday...way past the normal pick up time...MY dear sweet husband came home got the truck and went back and picked them up... the camp chairs ended up being puchased at Target

Here they are in the dinning room...the never been touched since we moved in 5 years ago dinning room....Here my dinning room to be are your lovely chairs!

And then of course there always must be some books...The Goodwill had some great old vintage books for $3.99.....

And finally....my find from last week is in the start of it's own little holiday vignette....
Now I am off to see what the Junkin Monday gal pals have found... you must check them out also...Just follow the link.

  6. Those chairs are fabulous and there is no way you could have turned them down, camping or not!

And ... okay, so we always seem to pick the same things, we had the same car though we are many miles apart & didn't know it (and I have since sold mine), now I see we have the same turkey mold. I had a ton of those old papier mache turkeys too but I gave them to Sarah when she took over hosting Thanksgiving (which I always hated doing - liked the eating and getting together, hated the cooking)!

You should hang that big old hollyhock painting in your dining room, it would look great with those chairs! I keep forgetting to mention that I was glad to hear you still have the painting, it was a wonderful find, just like your chairs.
